  • All tourists coming to Uttarakhand have to register themselves on the Smart City Web Portal ( ) prior to their travel.
  • Always carry a Hand sanitizer, Face mask, Hand gloves and practice social distancing. Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes and mouth as much as possible.
  • People aged above 60 years, pregnant women and children younger than 12 years old have been advised to stay home.
  • Participants will have to adhere to strict health protocols, including temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times and maintaining social distance.

Nag Tibba ('Serpent's Peak') is located at a height of 3,022 metres (9915ft), around 57 km from Mussoorie in Tehri Garhwal region of Uttarakhand state. A very good trek to warmup and for beginners, it is the best one to have your first trekking experience in high altitudes. Nagtibba is the ideal weekend getaway destination for adventure lovers. This beautiful destination offers panoramic view of majestic Himalayas. Amidst exhilarating clean mountain air and splendid views, discover the majestic nature in the wooded environment of this quiet heaven as you take a scenic walk.

The mixed oak and deodar forest are dense and isolated, and host to a rich variety of bird and wildlife. In winter season, Rhododendron flowers are in full bloom along the way, these flowers last till month of April. From January to March Nagtibba basecamp and surroundings are captured with snow.  The scenery, ambience and the tranquility of this place cannot be described in words. One must experience it in person.

If you just want to be lost for a few days and be one with nature..this is the place. If you visit during flowering time the entire hills full of Rhododendrons turn pink and looks out of the world.


How to Reach:

By Air :-

Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, Airport is just 25 km from the main city. There are daily flights from Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi to Dehradun

By Train :-

Take night train from Delhi to reach Dehradun

  • Nandadevi Express - Train no: 12205 (Departure 11:50pm; Arrival - 5:40am)

  • Dehradun Express - Train no: 12687 (Departure - 9:10pm; Arrival - 5:00am)​

By Bus:-

There are frequent regular buses from Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate.

We would suggest you to take only government buses from ISBT Kashmere Gate.

Usually buses drop you at Dehradun ISBT. From there you can catch auto which will take 15/20 mins to Dehradun Railway Station.

Tata Sumo or similar vehicles will pick-up you from Dehradun Railway Station at 6:00am to 6.30am.

Day 01   : Dehradun - Pantwari - Nag Tibba Base Camp ( 7650 ft) 4 hrs Trek.

Report at Dehradun Railway station at 6.30am. ( Better to reach Dehradun on the previous night) The drive from Dehradun to Pantwari Village will take 4 hrs and it will take you via  Mussoorie - Kempty falls - Nainbagh - Purola. Pantwari village is the starting point of the trek.

After briefing session and introduction round we start our trek. Nagtibba basecamp is just 5km from Pantawari villages and the path is well laid out but the climb is steep at places. On the way you can watch and hear lots of different birds, beautiful cascades and flowers as well.

You can experience the calmness of the nature and feel more connected to it. While trekking generally you don’t feel the chill but once you reach the valley you would realize the temperature drop. It is advised to carry a raincoat as well as a jacket. After 4hrs of walk you will reach basecamp which is surrounded by mountains peaks and serenity beauty. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 2: Basecamp - Nag Tibba Summit(3km) - Descend to Patwari - Dehradun (7650 ft to 9915 ft) 6/7 hrs Trek.

Today is a crucial day as you have long walk. Start early in the morning after having breakfast, as we know that we will be going to summit Nag tibba Peak. Carry energy bars, ORS, and 3 litres of water. Initially trail starts with gradual ascends, in between you will find difficulties with few small steep sections. the last 20 mins ascent to Nag Tibba becomes steeper and rougher. After reaching the top you will realize that all the pain was worth taking to be where you are!

Once you reach near top you will forget all your pain because of the cool weather, clear skies and fantastic views. You can enjoy view of Swargrohini, Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, Kedarnath, Gangotri peak while admiring the scenery. After spending some time on Summit we start descend to Pantawari village, getting down will take 3 to 4 hrs time. You retrace the same trail to reach Pantawari village. Vehicle will be waiting for us at Pantwari village. Start back to Dehradun by private vehicle.
