Overview

Located in “Scotland of India”, Tadiandamol, as the name tells, is the highest peak in the Kodagu district and the third highest in Karnataka after Mullayangiri and Kudremukh.

Tadiandamol is one of the most beautiful treks which takes you through the vast expanse of the Shola forests and through endless grasslands. The trek being 14km long, is considered an Easy-Moderate trek with an elevation of 5740ft. This is a perfect place for avid trekkers and first-timers seeking a day long trek. Perfect place to fall in love with nature’s beauty and it always shines with a color of spirit.

Itinerary

Day 0 : Bangalore to Kodachadri Travel

We start our over night journey from Bangalore around 10pm. Drive through the beautiful view of western ghats leading up till Coorg. This travel will take 7/8 hrs time to reach homestay. We suggest you to finish your dinner before boarding in vehicle.

 

Day 1 : Trek to Tadiandamol Peak

Early morning after reaching homestay we freshen up and have a delicious breakfast. We start from homestay with packed lunch, after introduction round and briefing session we start our trek. Initial path takes us through curvy & uphill roads for a distance of 2km from the palace which leads to Forest Check Post covering a small water stream. Right from the check post trail continues with mud roads, a narrow ascent for about 2 kms covering the next stretch ‘Huge Boulder’ which consists of a flatter surface on the ground & serves a picturesque view & a 2 min descent from the boulder leads to the flow of river Kabini which serves as a water source.

After a brief rest, the next level of climbing gradually increases taking us through the vast expanse of Shola forest, now the path is more steep almost 60 degree slopes at few sections. The final stretch ends up climbing a lush grassland meadow, a misty valley heading towards the peak with blooming flowers during winter season. From the top, on a good day, you can see for miles across Shola forest and valleys across the Brahmagiri range.Trekking route is quite clear providing the perfect getaway for enthusiastic trekkers & one of the best trails for beginners. Start trekking back to check post, you retrace the same trail. Reach homestay, freshen up and at night if weather permits you will be having campfire and unlimited fun. Overnight stay in homestay.

 

Day 2 : Visit Golden Temple and Dive back to Bangalore

Morning after having breakfast we start our return journey from the homestay. On the way we visit Golden temple, Kushalnagar. Golden temple (Namdroling Monastery)was built in 1963. You will actually feel like you are in Tibet, the walls of the temples and the institutions are decorated with colorful paintings depicting gods and demons from Tibetan Buddhist mythology.  After the temple visit we start back our return journey, on the way we stop for lunch, reach Bangalore around 8pm.

Trip ends here with beautiful memories !!!
