Important Guidelines During Coronavirus
  • It is mandatory to carry a Covid 19 negative report from an ICMR approved lab, which must be dated not more than Three Days before the date of travel.
  • Always carry a Hand sanitizer, Face mask, Hand gloves and practice social distancing. Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes and mouth as much as possible.
  • People aged above 60 years, pregnant women and children younger than 12 years old have been advised to stay home.
  • Participants will have to adhere to strict health protocols, including temperature checks, wearing a mask at all times and maintaining social distance.

Overview

South India has its own chunk of thrill! One of the most beautiful locations in the Arabian sea. Netrani Island, also called pigeon island is a small uninhabited island, 20 km southwest off a small fishing village, Murudeshwar in the Indian state of Karnataka. The island is famous for its Shiva temple and for having some of the best dive sites in India.

For those who love water sports, a trip to Murudeswar is not complete without a boat trip to Netrani Island where you get to do Scuba diving and Snorkelling. Being about 20 Km from beach, it takes about 90 minutes to reach the dive site. The dive sites range from 6 to 40 metres deep, also famous for their clear water and visibility from 15 to 30 meters. Netrani’s rich coral reefs with many varieties of, butterfly fish, trigger fish, parrot fish, eels, and shrimps can be seen here. Sea Turtles can also be found, Netrani Island itself is full of sea beauty and the Scuba Diving experience makes it a wonderful trip to Murudeshwar.

 It will definitely be a once in a lifetime memory to cherish and experience life under the water.

 

How to reach Netrani Island:

Travelling to Netrani Island is easy from places like Mangalore, Goa, Mumbai and Bangalore. Once you reach Murudeshwar, there are boat services available to take you to the island.

  • By Train - Murudeshwar is well connected to the rest of India via railways as well. Regular rail services operate on a daily basis to and from Murudeshwar. Murudeshwar Junction is the principal railway station that serves the city of Murudeshwar.

  • By Air: Mangalore International Airport (IXE) - 134 kms from Murudeshwar

Itinerary
  • 07:00 am: Reach Murudeshwar and reach meeting point and training and instructions session at pool.

  • 08:00 am: Travel to Netrani Island by boat where you get to do Scuba diving.

  • Post 08:00 am: Reach the island and start your scuba with professional dive master.

  • Enjoy your dive and experience life under the water.

  • We suggest you carry some light snacks.

  • Return journey starts from the same boat

  • Reach Murudeshwar beach and depart to your destination.

*Please note that this island doesn’t have any place for landing so you will stay in the boat or inside the water at all times.
