Overview

One of the most popular national parks in India, located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh always attracts a lot of tourists from India as well as abroad. All because of high tiger density and amazing tiger sightings in the last few years! In 1968 Bandhavgarh was declared as a national park and it is spread across 450 square km. Bandhavgarh was the first place in India where the majestic white tiger (Mohan) was found in 1951.

The place blends so nicely with the forest; you will really feel disconnected from your stressful urban lives. The pure air, the sunny sky, the birds, the inviting forest and the peaceful quiet makes it an almost ethereal experience. In Bandhavgarh, there are 3 Core zones (Tala, Magadhi & Khitauli) and 3 buffer zones. Each core zone has about similar number of tigers. You will find tigers anywhere if you are lucky, it also might just happen that you visit all 3 core zones and see nothing and then find a tiger sitting on the road on your way back to the hotel.

You need to keep your eyes and ears on the target each time you enter the park. Listening for monkeys and Sambar, Deer alarm calls, pointing out pugmarks in the sand, and following the signs to get a glimpse of these beautiful tigers and other animals. On a side note: if you're a BIRD NERD then, you'll enjoy these parks while tracking tigers, leopards, elephants and other animals. The park has excellent opportunities for tiger sightings here, if you have the patience and listen for alarm calls. Around 90% successful sightings and a 30% chance of a very close encounter if you and the guide read the tigers’ movements correctly.

Bandhavgarh Jungle itself is an enriching experience. Away from the hustle or daily life, you get to experience the calmness and once in the jungle, you know there is nothing other than nature that controls everything. Come with an open mind, enjoy the safari, if you spot a tiger consider yourself lucky but don’t return back disappointed. Remember it’s their territory and it’s their wish to show up. We would strongly recommend this trip, if you're looking for a new adventure, wanting to see these breathtaking creatures in their natural habitat!
